Makoplasty Robotic Unicompartmental Knee Replacement
Makoplasty Partial Knee
Not all knees that need surgery, require a total replacement.  Many knees have arthritic deteriation in only one or two of the three knee compartments.  The Makoplasty robotic, computer navigation system provides the ability to do partial knee replacements with reproducible accuracy.

Partial knee resurfacing, one or two compartments, avoids any ligament or tendon disruption.  This also preserves the patient's healthy bone and surrounding tissue.  Surgery is less invasive, less risky and has a faster recovery.

Dr. Gilbert has performed hundreds of these robotic procedures and is a leader in the Los Angeles area.  He also consults for Mako Surgical teaching other surgeons this technique.  For more information, please refer to the American Academy of Orthopaedic web site, AAOS.org and also makosurgical.com
